These days it's hard to go anywhere without seeing a celebrity fragrance, each month someone in the public eye seems to be launching their own perfume.
I love perfume and I seem to collect them (I have day and night perfumes for each season! Borderline obsessive or what?) I'm not quite sure where my fragrance obsession comes from but I always wanted to work on a perfume counter.
I'm always keen to try new perfumes and I've jumped on the celebrity bandwagon in the past, I've used all of Britney's, a few of J.Lo's, Christina Aguilera's first one and I adore Rihanna's - like a holiday in a bottle!
A few weeks ago I noticed my friend spritzing on a perfume from a suspiciously 'Lola' esque bottle, it turned out to be Justin Beiber's fragrance, now credit to him, the perfume was actually really nice but I couldn't bring myself to purchase it and tell people who's it was (yes, a little snobby I know!)
I'm a bit of a Gaga fan so I was keen to try hers, which is the main reason why I bought this sample pack.
For £3.95 you receive 7 samples including:
- Lady Gaga - Fame
- Kim Kardashian - Glam
- Britney Spears - Fantasy Twist
- Boss - Nuit Pour Femme
- 007 James Bond
- Lulu - Time
- Boss - Bottled
I was a bit miffed to get 2 men's aftershave samples, I thought that if Latest in Beauty wanted to include men's samples, they should have done 2 separate fragrance boxes, one for men and one for women.
As I can't use these two, I'll probably pass them onto my Dad.
Influenced by Belladonna (deadly nightshade!) and containing apricot, jasmine, tiger orchid, honey and incense.
In typical Gaga style, this is the first coloured perfume, the liquid is black in the bottle, but turns to clear once sprayed!
This was the perfume I was dying to try! I'd heard that like me, Gaga is a fan of Thierry Mugler so I expected a floriental scent. Ironically, the proper bottle is something I imagine a Mugler fragrance would come in.
It is, surprisingly, sweeter smelling than I expected, but I do really like it, it's an individual sort of scent so I imagine its one of those where everyone would ask what you're wearing.
I think its pretty versatile, you could get away with wearing it for day or night.
It retails at £25.00 for a 30ml bottle which I think is a pretty good price
Funnily enough, I had already seen the Kim Kardashian one, I went to Newcastle for the weekend with a group of friends one of them brought this with her!
It's a floral scent with rose, jasmine and tuberose, it reminds me of a more floral version of J.Lo's glow.
While it does smell really nice, it's not a perfume that I think suits me, although I love the bottle!
Its classy and elegant looking and would look perfect sat on someone's dressing table. I also like the interlocking K's but that might just be me being biased :)
For some reason I had trouble actually trying to track this down on line, I found a 50ml bottle on The Perfume Shop's website for £29.50, but I'm assuming they must do it in smaller sizes too?
The newest fragrance from Miss Spears is basically interlocking bottles of both the original Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy (2 perfumes for the price of one!)
One of my friends bought me a bottle of Fantasy for my 18th birthday and I wore it religiously for about 3 years until I got bored of smelling it on everyone else and decided to use Midnight Fantasy instead :)
Fantasy is the sweeter scent of the 2 featuring jasmine, white chocolate and a 'cupcake accord' whereas Midnight Fantasy is more of a fruity scent containing black cherry, plum and musk.
I actually really like the idea of the interlocking perfumes (but that's probably because I always wear different ones so it suits my needs), while it doesn't really offer anything new in terms of fragrance I'm sure Britney fans will love it!
This retails at £23.50 for a 30ml or £30.00 for a 50ml bottle.
Nuit pour femme is the latest fragrance from Boss, so its not a typical celebrity fragrance as such but it looks like its being endorsed by Gwyneth Paltrow which I'm assuming is why its included
This is a floral fruity scent with peach, white flowers and musk.
Its not normally a fragrance I'd normally wear but it does smell quite nice and fresh!
The only issue I have with this is that it seemed to fade quite quickly on my skin, after an hour of spraying it the scent had practically faded.
This one retails at £30.00 for a 30ml bottle so not a bad price at all.
This offering is from Lulu (of 'shout' fame) I didn't even know she'd released a fragrance so thank God for Google!!
Its supposed to be floral but I think its quite citrusy with a bit of muskiness thrown in for good measure.
Again, its not a scent that I would normally wear, or probably even choose, it does however seem to be pretty long lasting, the scent doesn't seem to have faded at all nearly an hour and a half after spraying.
This retails for £30.00 upwards for a 30ml bottle.
What's your favourite celebrity fragrance?

are they literally like 5ml samples of each one?
ReplyDeleteI do like LIB boxes, so I think this is quite a good idea, especially just to get a sample of what celebrity fragrances are like
thanks for sharing :)

Hi, thanks for your comment!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit of a mixed batch of sizes, the smallest one is about 2ml but in all fairness you do get enough out of it to use as a tester!
I think it's a really good idea to bundle them altogether, I'd buy another box of they do one again in the future :) x
